Carmarthen and West Wales Advanced Motorists was formed in 1997 and was previously known as the West Wales Advanced Drivers. The group covers a large area including Carmarthenshire, the southern part of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

The group currently has approximately 80 members and meets socially on the first Tuesday  every other month, at The
RAFA Gremlin Club, Guildhall Square, Carmarthen at 7.15 p.m. We try to have a varied selection of speakers and events throughout the year mainly, but not all, motoring biased. Most future events are on the News/Social events page on this webesite. Members and non-members are always welcome at our meetings and events. The committee meet on alternate months; dates are usually posted in the newsletter.

Members can on request (go to Contact us page to request one)receive a quarterly newsletter by post. Articles or letters for inclusion are always welcome. Details are in the newsletter or send an email to contact@cwwam.org.

Annual membership runs from October and costs £12 per year although purchasing a "Skill For Life" course (£139 inclusive) includes group membership. New members are invited to join our training program - normally meeting on Sundays at 10 a.m. at the Morrisons Cafe in Carmarthen (except on Bank Holiday Weekends) where observers and associates can meet in relaxed surroundings. This also encourages members to get to know each other prior to undergoing training. Free assessments are also available - although booking is not essential it is worth checking on availability first.

Many of the committee members are present at these sessions, and it is possible to meet some of the group and have an assessment drive before deciding to take the plunge!

We also have a fast growing motorcycle section with plans being made to organize rides out as well as training rides.
